Our Best Teacher in This Life and Hereafter

The Islamic view is that life and death are given by God. Life is sacred, and a gift from God; and it is only God, and not the human beings, who has the right to take it back. This willful taking of one’s own life is considered a major sin in Islam.

Islam contains many rules for daily life and human relationships. The first source of these rules is the Quran and the second is the hadith or reports of the prophet Muhammad’s words or actions.

Muslims understand that Islam and the Holy book Quran is a complete package that tells us how to spend our lives in the best manner. The life Prophet Muhammad (PBUH) reflects the teachings of Quran and Allah. One may debate about alternations and difference in beliefs due to intersects and teachings from ancestors. However, it is always recommended to open the Holy book and verify everything yourself.

Islam sheds great importance on behaving during our lifetime. Haqooq Allah and Haqooq Al-Ibaad are given very important pillars in the lives of Muslims. While Haqooq Allah is the main goal of life, the way to it largely depends on how we participate in Haqooq Al-Ibaad.

Haqooq Al-Ibaad primarily deals with how we behave in our daily routines. Controlling our anger, helping others, talking to family and friends nicely and other aspects are what build our nature and reflect on how we behave. Here is what the Quranic verses teach us about behaving:

1. Respect People Of All Faiths And Beliefs
2. We Must Not Be Proud
3. Do Not Eat And Drink In Excessive Amount
4. Keep Fighting And Striving For What You Wish To Achieve
5. Stay Away From Corruption
6. Honoring Guests
7. Speak Kindly When Speaking To The Needy
8. Strictly Refrain From Spying And Backbiting
9. Do Not Assume Anything
10. Do Not Disrespect Parents
